dieter says: "We still discuss the internal structure of the A-143-4, especially the type of control and in/outputs. We will probably introduce a VC master oscillator with a max. frequency of some kHz. The master oscillator is used to scan the different waveform tables (e.g. saw, triangle, sine ....) of the LFOs. The length of each table will be probably 256 and the amplitude resolution too (i.e. 8 Bit for both). Consequently the frequency of the master has to be 256 times the final LFO frequency. The frequency dividing factor for each sub-LFO defines if it runs with 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/5 .... frequency. The phase shift CV or the reset defines the phase relations between the different LFOs. Both CV and Reset controlled phase shift between the LFOs have its advantages and disadvantages. Maybe we will built an electronics that uses the switch contact to detect if a plug is inserted into the Reset socket and deactivates in this case the CV control section. The electronics has to detect the plug insertion independent of the signal applied to the reset input as the reset signal could occur accidentially and has nothing to do with the insertion of the plug. Even the number and type of waveform outputs is still under discussion. We have to reduce the number of waveforms for each LFO or offer the possibility to switch between different waveforms e.g. with a three-position toggle switch for three waveforms. Small rotary switches are extremely expensive (e.g. as those used in A-110/A-111 are more than 10 Euro each without knob). Another solution would be the selection of the waveform with up/down buttons. A lot of possibilities and we have to find out which is (hopefully) the best solution. I hope we will publish our first front panel draft for the A-143-4 next week as discussion base. But we also have to finish some other designs: the MIDI version of the Ribbon Controller and the organ keyboard. So our focus will be not only the A-100 during the next weeks." ===== Bakis Siros Parallel Worlds / Polariton Athens-Greece [Doepfer_a100] group owner http://www.rubber.gr http://www.shimarecords.co.uk http://www.ward12.com __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
