come off it - how smart do you think those at analogue systems are?

are you really telling me that people smart enough to design, build, and
market a successful synthesiser cant buy a doepfer module, read the
component values, and the pcb tracks and knock up some schematics for
themselves!

as Tim Stinchcombe casually demonstrated in his post on the 6th of this
month its quite possible

it would just make it easier for those who have an interest in the modules
(i.e. us), rather then making it a possiblity for any competitor.

wasn't it ARP who used to encase their stuff in epoxy resin? thats the way
to stop a competitor reverse engineering.... ; )

cost?

so, when i buy a service manual, that comes off an analogue copy, does it?
even if it does, it cant be scanned and made into a pdf in, what, 5 mins?

anyway...

i dont know why the schematics are not available. the thing is, im not even
arguing that hard that they should be. id like them to be, but thats
doepfers choice, and so be it. if he dosnt want to release them, i can only
say that id like him to, and not in any way that he ^should^.

what im commenting on is simply that all these reasons being put forward
from people other then doepfer that really dont add up to anything at all.
