I agree that separate module frontpanels dedicated to the different functions would be a better idea. That way the main "guts" of the module can be made in quantities that would reduce cost. An option of a "universal" module panel with a midi or such programmable input could be an option also. That would raise the hassle of software programs, but would offer the most flexibility, especially if the module "remembers" the config data after programming, thus allowing the programmer to run multiple modules in a rig.
