You're right some of my suggestions are unrealistic.  I'd never be 
able to afford them myself so don't think I'm sitting on piles of 
cash and demanding my wishes be fulfilled.  HA, it's quite the 
opposite.  

But what about some of my other suggestions, like the package deals?  
That could work.  Or the non-CV stand-alone units, that wouldn't cost 
too much especially with the AC adapter.  I might make that by myself 
someday soon.  It wouldn't LOOK like Doefper, but that costs money 
too.  

One of the last posts (7349) had a good idea too, James Husted, who 
suggested modifying current mixers to link together, although that's 
about $240 US for a 4x4 matrix mixer.  Still too much I think.  Or 
should I not be in this modular game if I can't afford that?  Doepfer 
should be able to make a 4x4 cheaper as there is one power 
connection, one faceplate, one silk screen job, etc.

I have done something similar already using the normalling sockets as 
suggested in 7349.  It requires removing the sockets, bending a 
socket pin and connecting a wire to the corresponing socket on 
another mixer.  I did this to make a 'stereo' mixer using two A-
138s.  It voids the warranty and in some cases a spare socket is 
required.  My full instructions will be posted soon....  With this 
mixer pair, plugging into input 1 on mixer 1 sends the same signal to 
input 1 mixer 2 allowing separate control for left and right levels.  
But by plugging into input 1 mixer 2 the normalled connction is 
broken and a true stereo signal is possible (like when using the pan 
outs of my A-109).   I only have two mixers so a full 4x4 was not 
possible when I did this mod.  I've also done this with a pair of A-
125 Phasers, A-110 to A-115, and more.....in all cases maintaining 
front panel socket functions.  This all saves me from using 500 
mutilples to make complex patches, and things I do often are now 
hardwired saving me patch time and cable clutter.
