RE: [Doepfer_a100] Re: 16 step on 155 adapter

2005-03-10 by Paul Wagorn

I think it could be done entirely with ttl chips, no? a 9v battery should
power it fine. This is sort of what I had in mind. The 'adapter' would
have 3 or 4 cables coming out of it to plug into the appropriate plugs on
the 155.

TTL chips are almost free. The most expensive thing would be the 1/8"
connectors I think!

Normalling them is a neat idea - good point, never really thought of that.
but I guess that means those 2 modules can't be used with the 16 step
sequences.

I'm sort of surprised that the 155 doesn't have a simple switch for this.
I'm sure it would have been very easy to implement into the design & add
practically nothing to the cost, but I'm sure there were reasons why not.

Hmmm.. (paul keeps thinking)

hmm...shouldn't be very complicated in theory, but i think practically
you'll need power to do it (and some sort of casing to house the
parts, obviously). switching between two signals in dependency of a
third on/off type signal could be done with a relay or possibly with
one/two transistors...but you'd need power for this. so you've got
1) cv 1
2) cv 2
3) 8/16 select
4) ground
5) +V
6) -V
...kind a thick cable :/

.....i think you'd be better of with modules and pre-patching them
with the normalling-switches in the sockets
