Doepfer

hi ben-
 i did the same thing, but i used the doepfer supplied mains 
inlet/switch.  this makes it pretty easy.  the wires doepfer 
provides for this purpose are in fact insulated all the way down to 
the contacts on the psu. i did not ground out the mains inlet 
anywhere else but the psu, which was psu version one (is this 
perhaps diferent for psu 2?  i'll look at the website and see what 
you're talking about).  in fact the psu itself is mounted to a piece 
of perf metal, which may be serving as the ground, now that i think 
about it.  you could try to put a thin peice of aluminum or tin to 
screw the psu into between the screw lugs and the wood case.  

i've never had any problems (hum, smoke, explosions, etc...) with 
mine which was wired this way.  the instructions for wiring the 
psu/bus boards is very clear, i think.

ps-perhaps you should mount the modules into steel strips, that way 
the threading will have longer life if you remove/swap modules often.
