Ingo,

I'm sorry but I have to contradict. Roland Mayer, who is no longer in the
company, had the A-196 under his wings. It took a while for me to find out
the internal connections and normalling (I had to check the schematics, the
front panel layout and the manual). Please find my replies in the text.

No. The socket labelled "Out" in the "Phase Comp." section (below the "Type"
switch) is the unfiltered Phase comparator output (connected via a 1k
protection resistor to PC1, PC2 or PC3 of the phase comparator according to
the position of the "Type" switch). The socket labelled "Out" in the "Low
Pass" section is the low pass filtered signal of the PC1/PC2/PC3 signal.
Both sockets are not normalled as they are outputs (in general outputs are
not normalled but only inputs).

I think the front panel printing is correct.

May be a small mistake in the user's manual caused the misunderstanding. The
lowpass output socket is not shown in the sketch on page 3 of the manual but
only the normalled CV input socket of the VCO. I will add lowpass output
socket to the sketch of the manual and use the same labels as on the front
panel. I hope this will help to solve some misunderstandings.
