Hello Dieter, thanks for your reply which covers my points best. I'll try the "virtual non-quantized mode" later this week at Schneiders Buero. I already spend a (too brief) moment there with the A198 and think the ribbon controller definately a must for me. Also glad to hear that most of the R2M features are useable without MIDI.
