Doepfer

I have some Analogue Solutions modules in my system; a couple of drum
modules, the SY02 multimode filter and the SQ8 sequencer.
 
Plus side of the these modules. The drum modules I must admit I never
use now as I prefer my ER-1 but they are good modules that free up other
modules when making drum sound. The SY02 is a fantastic filter. Based
around an MS20 filter it has a HP and a LP and can get very harsh or be
very mellow - wonderful. The SQ8 is a nice basic 8 step sequencer that
has a switch on each pot so you can effectively skip a step. The reason
I don't have more is simply that there is a very limited range of
modules, mostly bread and butter stuff that I already had in Doepfer
form when I came across Tom's modules. The build quality is good and
they do what you expect them to with out any real surprises.
 
The only module I would have liked was the fill in module that allowed
you to run one sequencer as a main pattern and the switch to another for
a fill. I got over that problem by using the A150 and a A176. So a nice
to have rather than a necessary.

It will be interesting to see if Analogue solutions here in the uk
will follow along with this price increase.

Taking into consideration that the doepfer system is the best value
for money analog modular around.... When I first heard about the price
increase I was tempted at first to go with Analogue Solutions, but
even with the price hike, my gut is saying 'go with doepfer'.

How does the doepfer system compare to the analogue solutions system?
Can anyone who uses/experienced in both give their opinion?
