Hello Martin, I don't think the CEM based filters lacking charakter. 
What I love about the A107 you can try a variety of filter types and 
slopes within the very same patch just by stepping through them. 
It's also possible to switch at audio rates.
However, it always depends on your application which filter fits. I 
think the A101-2 especially gives bass patches a "natural" touch. I 
haven't gone deeply into my A101-1 but so far think it's great for a 
frequency depended scanning of 1 complex signal fed into diff. 
inputs or diff. signals into 2 or more inputs... However, if money 
is a concern both A101-2 and A124 will bi a good start. Regards, Ingo
