strategizing and filters and voltage controlling questions

2006-03-22 by redsawcloud

A-108 A-108 6/12/24/48dB Low Pass Filter
A-109 A-109 Voltage Controlled Signal Processor
Does anyone think having these two filters would be repetitive if you were only going to
have one or two filters? I'm just starting a system and am on a budget but want a really
good filter to start off with. The A-109 Voltage Controlled Signal Processor is obviously
appealing because of price and value/quantity it would offer a small starting system (with
the vca/pan). But the A-108 looks like a more interesting filter if you're only going to have
one. I want to be sure to have one very voltage controllable high-quality filter that will
keep me entertained until I can afford more...does anyone have any comments to share
about the A-121 Multimode Filter, it seems worthy in its multimodeness but I was weary
about the sound because I haven't heard it. Does anyone have any suggestions about
where I can hear these things online, I couldn't really hear them too well on the Doepfer
website (no insult to Doepfer) My setup will be the same as the Mini-Basic system but with
the lfo and adsr voltage controllable and no A-120 (24dB low pass 1). If anyone has any
suggestions or felt up to answering my additional question below it would help me.
I want to maybe also supplement my setup with more voltage controllable sources. I am
confused about how voltage controlling something with the A-176 Control Voltage Source
would differ from voltage controlling something with an LFO.
