Studying Composition in Germany

Studying Composition in Germany

2006-07-21 by dave

I was wondering if any members here know of any institutions, or
groups etc. that teach or direct electro-acoustic, contemporary
classical, acoustics, timbral composition in Germany.

I ask because im a music student in New York (proud Doepfer user too!)
applying for a scholarship to (hopefully) study composition abroad.
Germany, I think would be top notch for this, but I need the names of
places because I have to solicit an invitation to come study there.

Thank you for the help,

Dave

Hi Dave,

I forwarded your question to the newsgroup news://de.rec.musik.machen
(german version of rec.music.makers). I will forward the results to the
forum.

Hi Dave,

btw: you are aware, that all courses and tests will be in German and
good knowledge of the german language is necessary to be accepted at the
university? The same would be valid for French if you want to study at
the IRCAM or at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de
danse de Paris.

Florian,

Thanks for the response,

I am aware of the language situation..the "program" would provide
several weeks of learning German in Germany before actually beginning
any kind of study or research, and also a year here in the states
beforehand.

plus i will study key vocab on my own beforehand (ie. "bier" and
"sinus-welle")

Ok, thats fine.

For the details I will answer in private mail, because this is offtopic
here in the list.

I don't what the key vocabulary really is, but "sinus-welle" might be
neglectable ;-)
