A-188-1 4096 impressions (it's indeed impressive !)

A-188-1 4096 impressions (it's indeed impressive !)

2006-08-05 by levka0

Hi All,
It took me some time to find my own way into this module,
but now I might need to cancel all my appointments for the coming
months in order to study all its possibilities.

I am currently really charmed by putting an A-112 + A-101-2 in the FB
loop of the A-188-1 and feeding the A-188-1 output into an A-108.
This way, really strange delay effects can be produced.

By using an EG to control the VCF that filters the A-188-1 clock, it
is possible make the A-188-1 quite silent without losing relevant
hi-freq.

I think that both the upcoming switched cap. VCF and the VC clocked
delay will nicely combine with the A-188-1.

Thanks again to Dieter for bringing us such exciting modules.

these are some forthcoming modules and have been discussed
for quite some time now. afaik these modules are currently
under development, but it's too early to make an outline
of the features of the final products.

best wishes

Hello, do you know if the Basic Frame of Doepfer to work with my Cwejman
modular system ??
Thanks

i don't know exactly, but i guess that it is no problem.
you should send your question to wowa cwejman, if you
want to be sure about that. the email-address can be found
on his website http://www.cwejman.net/

best wishes

Cwejman in Doepfer frame

2006-08-09 by levka0

Yes, this all works fine

You should only take care that the red ribbon on the
Cwejman power cable is NOT lined up with -12 V (as for Doepfer
modules), but to the +12 V pin

Best regards
Joost

I must say, it beats me why other makers don't conform to Doepfer's standard
with respect to the red stripe. Isn't it a somewhat arbitrary choice
anyway? Doesn't Doepfer have more sold modules out there in the world than
most other makers put together? Why gleefully jump aboard and then start
rocking the boat?

A112 problem, or not?

2006-08-14 by erase

Bought a used A112, I have small problem with the module.

it seems that when I gate the recording trigger for a signal and then
play back the sample I get the sample playing back normal for as long
as I have gated the recording but it seems to be playing back the
whole memory (S1 or S2) and the remaining playback is just garbled
sounds. I am not sure if this is the way the A112 works, it seems to
be a 50/50 for me. This is quite irritating when looping a sample too
as I get the garbled sound in the loop (of course...)

Can someone who uses the A112 much just guide me through a simple
test of sampling a source, playing it back and so forth ? Does anyone
recognize this error ? I have exchanged the battery in the module
aswell and it changed the result a bit, from totally garbled sound to
less garbled. .

Thanks

Daniel

AW: [Doepfer_a100] A112 problem, or not?

2006-08-14 by hardware@doepfer.de

Daniel,

that's normal and has nothing to do with the battery. In play mode always
the complete memory is played back. If you do not record the complete memory
then there will occur the rest of previous sample behind the position where
the recording has been stopped. To avoid this I'd recommend to clear the
complete memory before you record a new sample (i.e. record without a sound
or level control fully CCW) or to use the complete memory for a new sample.

Best wishes
