RE: [Doepfer_a100] A111/2 tuning knob question

RE: [Doepfer_a100] A111/2 tuning knob question

Hi Ingo,

I've always like the idea of the Emu VCO with individual octave
switches, thus allowing you to switch from 32' to 4' without going
through 16' & 8', great for live work.

Subject: [Doepfer_a100] A111/2 tuning knob question

hello list,

i'd like to start a poll, but want to collect
additional ideas first.

the preliminary frontpanel design of the a111/2 dynamic vco
offers two knobs for tuning: coarse tune and fine tune.
lets say, that this is option 1.

actually there are two other ideas regarding the tuning controls.

option 2:
an additional octave switch (like on the a111),
so we would have three controls for tuning.

option 3:
a single multiturn tuning knob (similar to the zeroscillator
tuning knob, but probably not that big in size), so
we would have only one knob for tuning. this would be the
most expensive solution tough.

any other suggestions?

btw, from my personal preference i would prefer option 2.

best wishes

ingo

hello david,

i'm afraid that this solution would eat up too much
panel space, but anyway i will put it on the list too.

best wishes

modules running out

2006-09-12 by hardware@doepfer.de

If anybody is still interested in these modules:

We have less than ~ 10 A-177 modules left (foot controller).
We have less than ~ 20 A-197 modules left (analog meter).

These modules will no longer be manufactured because of the poor sales.

Best wishes

The A177 is poor selling? Can't believe it since it's one of my favs.

Yes. Only 3-4 A-177 modules have been ordered per month. It took about 3
years to sell the last batch !

The standard wah-wahs I know are not able to send a CV as the potentiometer
operated by the foot is part of the filter circuit. You will have to modify
the wah-wah, e.g. a three-terminal switch that disconnects the three
potentiometer terminals from the filter circuit and uses the potentiometer
for CV generation. According to the wah-wah circuit even a two-terminal or
even single-terminal switch maybe sufficient to switch between wah-wah and
CV mode. In any case a bit electronic experience is necessary.
