Ingo,

I know that's the only downside to the idea, it requires 4hp just for
the switches :(

hello david,

i'm afraid that this solution would eat up too much
panel space, but anyway i will put it on the list too.

best wishes

Re: build your own

2006-09-15 by IZAM

i wonder if anyone can list or point to a site where it outlines whats required to build a double width wooden eurocase or any ' make your own specs ' online . i have the doepfer inline case spec as pdf which i will work from i guess.

I am just about to trawl through all the past posts so apologies if this has been convered already .Power supply wise is it possible to buy ready made ones up which simply bolt in ?any advice on this.I am not a solderer or electronic engineer but i know a man who is .Whats critical regards the psu's? can i buy just one psu large enough to power a rack consisting of 168 hp x 9 u high of modules.

I am looking to make a double width case / 9u high and fill it :)

Any advice would be cool.Time to scout the past posts.

The basic principle of building such a case is shown on the A-100 DIY page:

www.doepfer.com > PRODUCTS > A-100 > DIY page

Für 168HP x 9 U you need

6 front rails version 1 with "lip" 168 HP
12 self-tapping mounting screws for the rails
12 threaded inserts (as the threaded inserts are 84 HP only)
6 bus boards with cables the bus boards to the power supplies (included
with the bus boards), the cables are simply put on the flat connectors (same
as used in cars) of the bus boards and PSUs (no soldering required)
3 PSU2 (or another linear PUS that is sufficient for the complete system, ~
3A @+12V/-12V or more recommended)
mounting material to mount the bus boards and PSU2 to the case
(spacers/distant bolts, screws, nuts, washers ...)
mains inlet with mains switch and fuse holder
wires to connect the PSU2 to the mains inlet

and of course all wooden parts of the case.

The wiring of the PSU2 to the mains inlet has to be carried out by an expert
only ! For this electronic experience and knowledge of the safety rules is
essential !

Best wishes
