Which filter is most MS-10-like

Which filter is most MS-10-like

2006-10-02 by Bryan E Cornell

I love the filter on my MS-10. It's just insanely meaty. Is the A-106 with the HP bipassed the closest filter to an MS-10? And for that matter is the MS-20 Lowpass the same as the MS-10 filter?

Just curious.

If you like the MS10 vcf, you'll like the 106... Just use the lowpass
input and you'll have a hard telling it apart from from the MS10. The
MS20 lowpass is the same as the MS10 VCF.

hello bryan,

the ms10 lowpass is build around the korg35 ic.
the ms20 was available in two versions. the early
versions used the same korg35 ic, while the later
versions used an ota filter design. both versions
sound different.

i would say that the a106/1 is really close to the ms20,
but i know others who disagree. it is really difficult
to be objective in this regard, because almost all
ms20's sound a bit different (large tolerances).

best wishes

ingo
