Hi list ( newbie here ) I'll get my system soon and it will be disbalanced towards modules subject to interferences by the PSU2 so is there some rough minimum radius from the copper coil ? I will put of course the LFOs and such in front of the coils but it may not be enough for the " on the sides modules " ... Thanks in advance !

?????
is this some kind od real or imagined problem?

i'm not good in electrics, but i don't think that the psu2 should produce any interference at all. but well, maybe someone else can tell us more? best wishes ingo --- In Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com, Ross Goniakowski <carfull@...> wrote:

Thanks Ingo ! well I asked that because of this paragraph in the accessories - 6U cases : " No audio processing modules (e.g. VCO, VCF, VCA, VCP, VCFS, Ring Modulator, Spring Reverb) should be mounted near the power supply but only control voltage modules (e.g. ADSR, LFO, S&H, Slew Limiter, Trigger Delay, Sequencer, Quantizer, Clock Divider, MIDI-Interfaces) " --- In Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com, "selfoscillate" <synaptic_music@...> wrote: > > > i'm not good in electrics, but i don't think that the > psu2 should produce any interference at all. > but well, maybe someone else can tell us more? > > best wishes > > ingo > > > > --- In Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com, Ross Goniakowski <carfull@> > wrote: > > > > ????? > > > > is this some kind od real or imagined problem? > > > > glabbeur <benhure@> wrote: > > Hi list ( newbie here ) > > > > I'll get my system soon and it will be disbalanced towards modules > > subject to interferences by the PSU2 so is there some rough minimum > > radius from the copper coil ? > > I will put of course the LFOs and such in front of the coils but it

i believe that this paragraph is valid for the old psu1 only. best wishes ingo --- In Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com, "glabbeur" <benhure@...> wrote: > > Thanks Ingo ! well I asked that because of this paragraph in the > accessories - 6U cases : > > " No audio processing modules (e.g. VCO, VCF, VCA, VCP, VCFS, Ring > Modulator, Spring Reverb) should be mounted near the power supply but > only control voltage modules (e.g. ADSR, LFO, S&H, Slew Limiter, > Trigger Delay, Sequencer, Quantizer, Clock Divider, MIDI- Interfaces) " > > > --- In Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com, > "selfoscillate" <synaptic_music@> wrote: > > > > > > i'm not good in electrics, but i don't think that the > > psu2 should produce any interference at all. > > but well, maybe someone else can tell us more? > > > > best wishes > > > > ingo > > > > > > > > --- In Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com, Ross Goniakowski <carfull@> > > wrote: > > > > > > ????? > > > > > > is this some kind od real or imagined problem? > > > > > > glabbeur <benhure@> wrote: > > > Hi list ( newbie here ) > > > > > > I'll get my system soon and it will be disbalanced towards > modules > > > subject to interferences by the PSU2 so is there some rough > minimum > > > radius from the copper coil ? > > > I will put of course the LFOs and such in front of the coils but

Right. Even the PSU2 transformer generates a small magnetic field but it is much smaller that those of the old PSU1. So far we never detected any hum noise even for modules mounted very close to the PSU2. In any case a safety distance of at least 2-3 cm (i.e. about 1 inch) between transformer and module should be kept. For standard frames that's no problem but for suitcases some deeper modules (e.g. A-113, A-126) should not be or cannot be mounted above the PSU2. Best wishes Dieter Doepfer

Thanks again Dieter ! I was afraid to sacrifice some " safety space " with blind panels, I will keep in mind the minimum 2-3 cm since it will be a suitcase ... --- In Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com, <hardware@...> wrote: > > Right.
