power supply adaptation

2006-10-15 by thebadproducer

Hello there, I was wondering if anyone knew if it would be possible to
adapt the PSU2 power supply to output +9v and -9v rather than + and -
12v, maybe this is possible by changing some components? Or does anyone
know of a way of incorporating diy 9v modules into the Doepfer power
setup? (possibly similiar to the +5v adaptor AD5 - I think simply +9v
is necessary for me).

thanks
Charlie

What about just finding a 9v regulator, and cutting down the 12v supply that
way for the modules that need only 9v?
Thats all the doepfer 5v adapter does...

You would probably need to do it on a per-module basis thoug - the bus has a
rail reserved for 5v, but obviously not a couple for +/-9v. If you only
needed +9v though, and you were not using the 5v rail, then i guess you
could use the reserved 5v system for 9v insted.

AW: [Doepfer_a100] power supply adaptation

2006-10-16 by hardware@doepfer.de

If you replace the 7805 by an 7809 on the A-100AD5 adapter you obtain +9V
(or 7808 for +8V). If you plug such a modified A-100AD5 to the A-100 bus
board you have +9/+8V available instead of +5V.

But pay attention not to connect modules that require +5V (e.g. A-190,
A-191, A-113) to a bus board with such a modified A-100AD5. The modules will
be destroyed !

First audio examples of A-188-2

2006-10-16 by hardware@doepfer.de

The first audio example of the tapped BBD module A-188-2 is now available.
It's a stereo mp3 to show the possibilities of the two audio outputs.

Thanks Dieter, I think this is what I'll do. So am I right in thinking that if a module does not need +5v then it would be okay to connect it to a modified bus board (ie. there is no connection between the module and +9v) I assume that would be the case, so I guess you don't need to answer that! Also such a modified AD5 (an AD9 if you like) would be useful for the digital oscillator would it not? Is this how you would implement the 9v supply?

Thanks

Charlie
