A156 Quantizer Repair - help with finding a part

A156 Quantizer Repair - help with finding a part

2006-10-29 by stuadh

Does anyone know where I can get hold of a TS274CN Integrated Circuit to repair a
Quantizer. I've checked the usual UK outlets (Maplin, RS Components, Farnell plus Google)
and this seems to be a discontinued product. Alternatively, does anyone know of a
suitable and available (to the UK) alternative?

Yours Aye

Hi Stuadh,

I've used these people successfully before:

http://www.esr.co.uk/

and they are showing that part in their catalogue, so you might get
lucky in that they might actually have some!

I also note that STMicroelectronics appear to be showing the part
as 'active'.

AW: [Doepfer_a100] A156 Quantizer Repair - help with finding a part

2006-11-02 by hardware@doepfer.de

The TLC274 is a compatible device. But do not use a TI chip (Texas
Instruments) as we had problems with TLC274 manufactured by TI (HF noise).
NS (National Semiconductors) or ST (SGS Thomson) are OK.

Best wishes

Thank you very much Tim and Dieter. I have just fitted the Texas Instrument chip I bought
and I'll see if I have any problems. Thanks for the advice, at least I'll recognise the
problem if it occurs. Many thanks,

Stuadh

Live performance THILGES with A-100 in Berlin Nov. 11, 2006

2006-11-03 by hardware@doepfer.de

Dear members,

if anybody is interested: there will be a live performance of the Austrian
group THILGES on November 11, 2006 in Berlin. They use five A-100 suitcases
and a Schaltwerk for their live performance. Details on the news page of our
website.

Best wishes

i saw them live in austria when i was living there. they used one a-100p and abletons live.
there was choreography to their session, rather the performance revolved around the
choreography. in any case, the sound quality/sample selection that use were crisp sounding.
they constantly sell their stuff.
