Can some kind soul with a A-137 Wave Multiplier please post some
samples? I'm thinking about buying one but I'm just not sure. I've already
heard the ones on the Doepfer site and it wasn¹t enough to make me gaga over
it. I'd especially be interested in hearing it in conjunction with Plan B
VCO's. Greatly appreciated.

I don't think samples would do it justice...the A137 is BRILLIANT! it will make you go GAGA...TRUST ME! ...it will make your head explode once you start modulating it...it is PURE GAGA! --- In Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com, John <inform3r@...> wrote: > > Can some kind soul with a A-137 Wave Multiplier please post some > samples? hello john, i know, i have promised to record some examples for you, but i'm still very busy with other things, sorry. after all it will be difficult to show the potential of the module with just a few recordings. i suggest that you check out the a137 examples on my homepage (www.selfoscillate.de), and if you can wait a few days more i maybe can manage to record some new snips for you soon. best wishes ingo --- In Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com, John <inform3r@...> wrote: > > Can some kind soul with a A-137 Wave Multiplier please post some > samples? hey john,
I can offer you a some examples in context to my music.
http://thedeepelement.com/invade/audiomine/thedeepelement-fae111106.mp3
aside from the orchestra, almost everything, including the drums are being run throught
the 137, though there are many other things going on. the most obvious sound is the
'guitar distortion' that comes in every 2 bars on the downbeat when the song gets started.
in my opinion is a great module for giving sounds an edge/bite.

Good examples! I didn¹t know it could distort that much! I still would
love to hear it with some triangle/sine synth work but this was cool too.
Thanks,
John

Hello. I just uploaded a very quick A-137 example as requested to Files->JVTalbert This was a very simple patch of a Plan B oscillator sine wave patched directly to the A-137 with a combination of A-155 and manual modulation. An mp3 doesn't do it justice, but hopefully this will give a general idea of some of the sonic possibilties. That sounded great. Thanks. The modulation can get quite extreme. What
were the little clicks in the beginning of the sequence? Was that from your
EG¹s?

John

There were no EGs used. Only the three modules: 1 Plan B Osc, A-155 step sequencer and A-137. The clicks were just a side effect of the arbitrarily selected 5 steps of voltages from the A-155 (at the 4v range setting) modulating the A-137 Multiples input combined with the initial low Multiples, Folding Level, Symmetry and Harmonics settings before tweaking. I was attempting to quickly illustrate as much of the sonic range of the module as possible. Hopefully this explains the mystery clicking. :-) Kindest regards, John --- In Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com, John <inform3r@...> wrote: > > That sounded great. Thanks. http://musictechnology.northwestern.edu/~meatlog/137wood.mp3 The sound source is a sine wave through the 137 with various parameters being modulated by the Plan B envelope for woodwind-like behavior. This was recorded at a time when I was using the BBD way too much for everything, so ignore if that isn't your thing. All musical event generation in this clip is automated, other than the live adjustment of audio output levels for the reverb and BBD channels. --- In Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com, John <inform3r@...> wrote: > > Can some kind soul with a A-137 Wave Multiplier please post some > samples? Hi John.. The A-137 is great, it can sound very electronic or organic/electric-guitar sounding. In fact, I based a whole piece around its sound - luxuriating in a bath of harmonics generated by the A-137 using a Plan B Model 15 as audio input and an additional Model 15 for modulating the A-137. Additionally, the Wasp Filter and Plan B Model 12 filter were used. It's track # 10, "Cicada"... no external effects and recorded direct: http://www.backporchrevolution.com/release.php?id=54 <http://www.backporchrevolution.com/release.php?id=54> not for the faint of heart. :) cheers - Bryan K. --- In Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com, John <inform3r@...> wrote: > > Can some kind soul with a A-137 Wave Multiplier please post some > samples?
