Hi there Aussie Doepfer users. I contacted the Australian Distributor
about a year ago and got no response, by email anyway.

Looking at their web site, it seems they have not updated their module price
list in 3 years and also didn't adjust prices to suit the strong
dollar we have now and it seems the price list was set when our dollar
was at 56 US cents. This is extremely frustrating and annoying
and what I would do, if I were the Doepfer company, would be to
relinquish the contract with the Australian distributor and get it
done with some one who cares about the product. What the Aussie
distributor has done is the equivalent of what our channel 9 TV station
does - gets a contract to lock out the competition and then drop
the product line.

I myself contacted the Analogue Haven guy in the US and he was happy
to ship modules to me direct, doing business in the usual way - something
that the Australian distributor seems to not want to do, or is incapable
of, through their own stupidity, ignorance or lack of interest.

HI

Yes I also buy from Analog Haven as I live in Australia. The Aussie
distributer was crap and expensive.

ELby Design would do a way better job as I deal with them for building a
modular system

Hi,

I've also had the same problem with the Aussie distributor (and hence
feel the need to register my discontent).

I get all my modules from Shawn at Analogue Haven in the US and would
recommend them wholeheartedly as the best source of Doepfer for
Australians (in fact I'd recommend them for any gear). I'd also
recommend Schneiders Buero in Berlin as well (top guys) but the Euro
is just too strong.

It would be fantastic if we had our own distributor here - someone
who actually wanted to sell the product. I know a few people here who
would be interested in buying modules but are put off by the
perceived hassle of shipping etc.

If there is a specialized shop in Australia you can recommend please forward
this information to our sales office (sales@doepfer.de). I'm sure we will be
able to find a solution for our Australian customers as soon as we can find
a reliable partner who has even sufficient know how for
consultation/demonstration and is able to carry out minor repairs.

Thank you
