MCV24 ADSR - how?

MCV24 ADSR - how?

2007-04-29 by Matthew Davidson

Would anyone care to enlighten me on how to get the software ADSRs in the MCV24 to work?
The manual isn't any help. I can go in, and change trigger mode from direct to ADSR, I know
how to modify the ADSR settings themselves, but beyond that, I'm out of ideas.

What is the ADSR triggered by? I assume it is triggered by a note, if you've assigned the
output to receive MIDI note messages, but It isn't really clear to me.

Where does the ADSR output appear? For example, if in direct mode, the gate signal would
appear at, say, output 13. If I change from direct to ADSR, I get nothing on output 13.

What am I missing here, conceptually?

If you need assistance please contact Christian Assall
(software@doepfer.de). He is the man who programmed the MCV24 firmware and
wrote the user's manual. I'm not the MCV24 specialist and to speak the truth
I prefer "real" hardware - especially for ADSRs.

Best wishes

Dieter, thank you for your response.

Can someone send his email address to matthew at blank dot org? Yahoo stripped off the
email address for me.

Indeed.

However, this project really needs the software ADSRs as I'm using a monome 40h
(monome.org) as a hardware front end for a trigger sequencer that is controlling a doepfer
vocoder. So, I need 15 ADSRs - one for each band. I also wish to demonstrate this system at
the regional analog heaven north east gathering here this Saturday. I don't have 15 ADSRs,
and if I did, I'm not sure I'm up for transporting them.

I kinda knew that : ) But thanks anyway. I'll post his answer to here
too for future reference for those with the same problem.

It's been a week - no answer. Any user comments here?
