138c offset

138c offset

2007-10-11 by matthewcdavis

Hi everyone,

I bought an A100 suitcase system recently and everything has been
going great except for the offset generator feature on my 138c which
does not seem to be working.

I've had a look at the pc board and there does not appear to be a
jumper on the offset option pins which i understand is required for
the offset to work.

Can anyone tell me how to enable this function? Is it just a matter
of putting a jumper on those pins? Is this easily done?

Thanks in advance,

Matthew

I don't have an A-138c but according to the manual you have to remove the
jumper to disable the offset functionality. So I'm confident that putting
the jumper back on should restore this functionality. It's quite easy to put
a jumper on (no soldering required), but you need to get one from somewhere
- the same type of jumper was used for settings in many older computers, so
asking a local computer geek if he has a spare jumper might be the easiest
way to get hold of one. Or you can maybe get one from an electronics supply
store if you have one nearby - it shouldn't cost you more than a few cents.
