Props to Bakis...

Props to Bakis...

2007-10-17 by James Husted

Props to Bakis for getting his latest album and his studio reviewed
in the November Electronic Music magazine (page 154)! It is great to
finally see someone who you have only had contact with via the net.
I'm drooling over the studio shot. Looks like the cameraman could not
get far enough back to get it all in!

Congrats..

thanks James!

and, yes you are right about the cameraman...
many synths are left out of the photo of course.

but, you can see more photos in the "web clips" page
of the EM November issue (on the EM website). did you
see them?
best regards,
Bakis.

Yikes - And I used to think I once had a lot of gear! At least large
modulars are hard to steal. I hope they are insured against fire and
other disasters! Talk about a synth room! How warm does it get in
there when all is working?

I remember reading somewhere about converting a Doepfer Power Supply to +/-15V.

Is this possible?

Has anybody had any luck converting a Doepfer portable case to +/-15V to run DIY modules?

Thanx,

Tony

Wouldn't it be easier to get a +/-15V power supply and sell the Doepfer one?

Converting the A-100 PSU2 to +/-15V requires some modifications: another
transformer, changing the values of some parts of the voltage regulation
circuit. The trimming potentiometers cover only a small voltage range around
12V. It is not possible to adjust the trimming pots for 15V.

Best wishes

Hi James

This guy lives in greece. While this summer he assumingly went into his
synth room to cool down, while outside the woods were burning... (the
latter one is only half fun)

hello Florian,
thankfully (for me only though), the bigest fires were
not in Athens.
but, anyway, that's a subject that's not suitable for
jokes... because the situation was tragic.
but, you can joke about my studio!
best regards, :-)
Bakis.

had more than 30 degrees. hot weather, hot gear, hot music ;-)

p.s. i was so busy this year, i even haven't read anything
here for some months, so i want to apologize if i missed
something headed towards my direction. from now on i will
check the group messages more regularly again.
