rachel.
welcome to the world of doepfer !
an answer, though not quite to the question you asked, is that is high. guess
based on cost of shipping units to australia. here in the u.s., the 6u frame
w/ pwr and buss is $325. modules are, as you noted, reasonably priced and
thats true here too. i`d guess the average module price is about $90 ( from
$25 for a multiple to $310 for a sequencer ). we have a very good distributor
in the u.s., enport ( www.en-port.com ).
hope you have fun !
best,
dave

Re: How to use the 5v converter

Just plug it in to one of the bus connectors, as if it were a
module. The red edge corresponds to the red stripe on the module
ribbon connectors.

hi andreas,
you can find all the info you need about the low-cost 5volts adaptor
in page 29,30 of the a100 introduction section of the a100 user's
manual(or in page 35/36 of the PDF file in the doepfer's site manuals
section.
bakis.

Feeling a bit cheated...

2002-04-24 by Andreas Lindholm

Damn, now I feel let down by Doepfer again.

I assumed too much as usual. The term backplate for bus board is indeed just
a backboard. I was kinda expecting a hole and perhaps even a power outlet
jack since the homepage calls it the plate for powersupply and not just
plain plate - but NO! Anybody else that has put together a case and can help
me out on what parts I need expect busboard, power supply and the plate.
What kind of powerswitch and socket?

help guys.

/Andreas

How to use the 5v converter

This is my unlucky day... I bought an a190 and a 12-5v converter and I can't
find any info about how to connect it to the bus board. Can anybody
explain... I see no info on the doepfer website more than "a 5v is
required...".

You have it to place on the bus like the cable between a module and the bus, possibly near the A-190 cable-
connection!

Hi Andreas,
a friend of mine is building a 6U case (made of plexiglass!!! I´ll add a photo to Yahoo when it´s ready.) and he has the same problem.
As you mentioned you need the busboard, the power supply, the plate and additionally the power inlet. Although it isn´t mentioned anywhere, you can order it from Doepfer. It comes with the power switch and the cables to connect it to the power supply. Costs 13 Euro.
Hope I could help you.

bye

Am I very dense here?

2002-04-24 by Andreas Lindholm

Or is there still one part missing in the manual about the 5v converter.
Fitting it it now obvious, but as to where to connect the 190 to the
busboard is still unclear to me. On which side of the converter? Can
somebody plainly explain that part?

Re: [Doepfer_a100] Feeling a bit cheated...

2002-04-25 by Paul Schulz

Well. I didn´t find it in the pricelist. The only item I found is that one: "Steckernetzteil prim. 230V (Eurostecker) sec 9V/800mA DC (Kleinspannungsstecker)
AC Adapter (Power Supply) prim. 230V (European mains plug) sec. 9V/800mA DC (DC plug)" This one costs 20 EUR, and it is not in the A-100 pricelist but in the accesory list on Doepfer´s website.
I visited that guy building his own case today and saw the invoice. The power inlet he uses really costs 13 EUR. Write an e-mail to Doepfer, they´ll help you. Just explain your situation.
