vc radio receiver

2008-02-17 by gasp_uleg

ok, i understand that a modular system is maybe not the best place to
fit a vc radio receiver, it's more a standalone kind of stuff.

but i'm decided to try to build one myself. i've been looking hard on
the net for schematics on how to control the tuning from a voltage
but never found anything i could understand. if anyone have some DIY
idea for this, please let me know. thanks

I'm not very familiar with radio circuits but if there is a potentiometer
(variable resistor) used to tune the circuit the universal vactrol module
(A-101-9) may be used to tune the radio from a CV.

Best wishes

hi dieter

that's preciselly the point. what i've see in the majority of radios
i've opened is that tune is controlled by a variable condenser.

maybe do you know how to do a voltage controlled variable condenser?
if you had some small schematic or knew where to find it i would try
by myself.

thanks

Sorry - I have no schematics for a voltage controlled capacitor and I think
it's not easy.
In older circuits indeed variable capacitors are used (open versions with
multiple discs that change the overlapping range while the tune knob is
operated). But in newer designs I have seen variable resistors as they can
be manufactured much cheaper (e.g. the TEMIC FM tuner 1890).

But please don't me ask details. That's not my field of knowledge.

A-155 sequencer + Kenton Pro solo 2 question

2008-02-20 by David Bulog

I was wondering if any one is using the A-155 sequencer + Kenton Pro
solo 2 rather than the A-155 and A-190?
Amy comments on how the A-155 sync with the Kenton

(i notice the A-190 has a reset socket while the kenton does not --
will this be a problem?)

thanks in advance
David

If you have only the clock available you cannot start the A-155 via Midi as
the Reset signal is missing. If it's sufficient that the sequencer has the
same tempo the clock signal is sufficient. If you want to start/stop the
sequencer via Midi start/stop the Reset signal is necessary.
