Could someone please confirm what is the maximum allowable depth of a module
for the various A-100 modules. Is it the industry standard of 160mm?

Best Regards

Re: [Doepfer_a100] Module size

Hi Laurie,

I am in an exchange with Tom (who makes the Oakley-modules) and we have the
problem, that the Doepfer-suitcase only allows for 80mm to a maximum of
100mm depth...

I do not know (yet) about the other cases but I have sent a mail to Doepfers
yesterday with that question - still awaiting their answer...

However: to keep a system mobile I have to use the suitcase and that means
the max. depth for modules I can use is 100mm

Hth.

No, I don't think it can be - a quick measure suggests the bus-board is
mounted on a rail about 15cm back from the front plates - rail '3' in
Fig 2 here:

http://www.doepfer.de/a100_man/a100m_e.htm

Since the bus connectors protrude _forward_ from this, the available
depth is of the order of 13.5cm, if that. I couldn't see any exact
measurements on that page, but I didn't look too hard - there might be
more at a lower level (?). Or you might find something at proMa's site,
or it's likely Dieter will see this and fill you in directly!

Please look at our website (for suitcase versions):

inside usable depth for A-100 modules: approx. 80 mm in the power supply
area (bottom right), resp. approx. 100 mm in the remaining area (measured
from inner side of the front panel until end of the pc board of the module)

For the standard frames the usable depth is about 140 mm. In any case that's
much more than the deepest A-100 module (A-126, ~ 105 mm).

Best wishes

Dark Energy Glide

2010-07-03 by Elby Designs

Hello Dieter,

A customer has asked me if I can add the GLIDE option to his Dark Energy.
I need to determine what is involved but can only find a reference to the
GLIDE pot assembly as an option and not the instructions on how to fit it.
Could you please email me a copy of these instructions so that I may advise
my customer?

Dark Energy Cables

2010-07-03 by Elby Designs

Hi,

Just checking the contents of the Dark Energy and there is a 2-wire patch
cable (red and black wires) which doesn't seem to be mentioned in the
manual. Can you please tell me what this is for?
