Don't remember if this was answered before, but is the monster base
wide enough to support two portable cases on top of it left and right
(not stacked)?

yes, its possible

I've got the demo prototype of the moster base, which I think is actually slightly shorter 
than the production one, and I've got two portable suitcases on top, and already it feets, 
really really just, but it feets

so I'm quite sure on the production one it will be totally ok
