How much does the wasp filter sound like the real wasp?

How much does the wasp filter sound like the real wasp?

2002-06-13 by hal3001

hey, i'm just starting up my doepfer, and i was thinking about
picking up 2 wasp filters(mainly because the real wasp filter is my
favorite filter in the world+the reason why i'm starting up a
doepfer), has anyone had any experience with an edp wasp and used
this filter as well ?:) i'm curious to if it sounds the same, if not
i'm going to be all sad. well thanks for your time;D

ryan,
it's been a while since i've played a wasp but yes, the sound is
similar. of course there's more to what makes a wasp's sound
than the filter, but the doepfer does have the same wierd
behaviour at high res. it jitters but never self oscillates and
produces a similar raspy tone. i find that the hotter the input, the
more it sounds like the real thing. good luck!

Ryan,

And I agree with Duff. It'll get as nasty as you'd like.

Move to quarantaine
