Somehow the external control jack has become bent and it is difficult to make connection. I have tried to correct the problem using jewelers tools but I simply cannot get the two parts to be right. Is there a easy way to repair the jack?

I hate to interrupt all this imitating Buchla with a Doepfer question. I need to replace a jack socket and I need either a manufacturer source or something that would put me in the right direction. I looked on the Doepfer site but didn't find it. Thanks. TD --- In Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com, "Tommy DOG" <mrsvomit@...> wrote:

Part number: CL1384 In the UK: http://www.rapidonline.com/Cables-Connectors/Connectors-Audio-Video/Jack/3.5mm-Mono-PCB-jack-socket/63491/kw/cliff In the USA: http://www.cliffusa.com/content.asp?PID=7&Page=2 You might also read this: http://www.doepfer.de/faq/a100_faq.htm#contact%20problems Tommy DOG wrote:

There are some mechanical differences (slightly other dimensions) and the CL13841 has so-called "curly" contacts for a better contact. As far as I remember the CL1384 is the old version of the socket. We do not use it since many years because of the contact problems. Best wishes Dieter Doepfer

You find it also in our price list in the spare parts section. It's manufactured by Cliff/UK. The order no. is CL13841 Best wishes Dieter Doepfer

Thanks Dieter. I have yet to locate any in small quantities for sale in the US. I wonder whether one can make a temporary substitute with a standard jack socket or does one need all 4 contacts. In ~90% of all cases only two terminals are actually used (GND and tip). But if the socket has a switching contact the terminal of the switched tip has to be wired too. Best wishes Dieter Doepfer

This is the socket for the external control input. It is probably a switching connector.
