A-190 gate light sticking?

A-190 gate light sticking?

2009-01-22 by kovski774

Hi,

I'm having a problem with my (newly repaired) A-190.

The 'gate' light only comes on maybe 1 in 8 notes, and randomly.
Sometimes the gate light stays on for maybe 10 seconds, and
starting/stopping the sequencer or sending notes doesn't do anything..
the module is putting out correct CV for pitch, it just seems to be a
problem with the gate behaviour. i've got it set to the right midi
channel (1), and I can see my RME fireface is sending the midi message
on the LED.
I'm using logic 8.

any ideas?
I've read the previous problem that people have posted about Logic8
and A190,(Message #16434) concerning the negative clock polarity.
Could that be causing my problem? I'm a bit of a MIDI beginner, I've
played around trying to send a program change to change the clock
polarity and gate polarity, but not 100% that i've done it correctly.
I've also done a full reset of the module.

should have thought of that! A-190 working perfectly directly
connected to midi keyboard.
something to do with logic or the fireface.

off to trawl logic forums...

Try a simple Midi keyboard to drive the A-190 and to find out if it works
(directly, not via a computer). If you still have questions please contact
our A-190 specialist Matthias Marass (keyboards@doepfer.de).

Best wishes
