Hi

I think Dieter should add something like: "this is only recommended for
electronically experienced users. The kit requires the usage of an
regulated external powersupply. If you don't know what this means, then
don't buy this kit."

you are making it too complex i think.

the concept behind a balanced power supply is not too difficult to grasp.

I've received the proper power supplies from analogue haven.

my supplies are not the problem.

I understand the frustration, this issue has been discussed before (never resolved) and
the circuit involved is basically nothing. but there seems to be something not quite right. I
need to understand why some people get a hum from the kit and others do not when they
are using the exact same power supply.

I am having this exact issue:

not trying to annoy anybody. just looking for help.

thanks.

I'm sorry but I've been following the DIY kit-mails sort of on the side,
since I don't own one.But one thing that occurred to my European mind: It
seems, correct me if I am wrong, that most people with problems are from the
US.
Doesn't that point to wrong power supplies coming from the US distributor?
(not to offend you Shawn..)
