dieter, will the upcoming A-143-4 Quad VCLFO/VCO track accurately enough to provide vco's for a polyphonic synth? thanks, stu

Great News about the forthcoming modules Dieter! i will need, for sure, the A1?? trigger sequencer with 8 rows, and the A187-1 DSP module (more than one of each probably)... plus the quad vca/ vco modules will be really very handy, especially for my live A100 cases. thanks, best regards, Bakis. The first prototype (without temperature compensation) did not. The pc
boards of the second version (with temp comp) arrived yesterday and we will
built the new prototype during the next few days. Then I will know details.

Latest news:
A-177-2 Foot Controller is available now
A-174-2 Wheel module will be available end of November
A-187-1 DSP effects will be available end of December 2009/January 2010
(depends upon the arrival time of the DSP boards)
At NAMM we will probably show (in addition to the modules mentioned above
and the Dark Energy):
A-132-4 Quad VCA
A-143-4 Quad VCLFO/VCO
and may be
A-110-2 Low Cost VCO (details incl. front panel will be added soon to our
web site)
A-1?? 16 step version of the trigger sequencer with 8 rows
new version of the TKB with capacitive sensors
It depends upon the arrival time of the pc boards and frontpanels if we will
be able to show these prototypes

> hello dieter, > > any news regarding the A-190-3? > > thank you > > maise We haven given up the idea to built the A-190-3 on base of the MTV16. The A-190-3 will be completely redesigned with LCD (like the A-187-1) and a higher CV voltage range and higher resolition (not only 5 octaves 0...+5V, not only 8 bit). Consequently the release date has to be postponed to spring 2010 or even later. Best wishes Dieter Doepfer

We could offer such a VCO in the Euro 100 range. But in the meantime I'm not sure if an A-110-2 really would make sense because we are about to try another VCO design similar to the announced A-143-4 but with a sawtooth core (in contrast to the triangle core of the A-143-4) and some additional features like linear FM and Sync. We could probable offer a quad VCO based on this new design for about Euro 200 (i.e. Euro 50 per VCO) - provided that everything works as it should. The tracking of the existing second prototype of the A-143-4 is good over ~ 6-7 octaves from 32Hz to ~ 4kHz. We still have to measure the long-term temperature stability and find out if latching effects occur if the frequencies are very close to each other. I'll keep you informed. By the way in the LFO mode weird waveforms can be generated by the A-143-4 when the VCLFOs modulate each other. Especially multiple cross-modulations (i.e. more than two oscillators modulate each other with feedbacks between the oscillators) are crazy. Best wishes Dieter Doepfer

After all the A-110-2 would not be a new oscillator but a simplified A-110
to keep the price as low as possible (i.e. an A-110 without waveform
converters for triangle and sine, and without rotary switch for octave
range). We could offer such a VCO in the Euro 100 range. But in the meantime

features like linear FM and Sync. We could probable offer a quad VCO based
on this new design for about Euro 200 (i.e. Euro 50 per VCO) - provided that

Will the tuning knob cover all the frequencies of a full octave?
Thank you Dieter,
that's very good news for me, as I happen to be in need of two oscillators.Have a nice evening,Regards, Thomas

There is a jumper available that is used to select the range of the tune
knob. If the jumper is installed the range is more than 3 octaves.

But you can decrease the value of R5 . This will cause a wider range. decreasing simply works by soldering a smaller resistor piggypack on the existing resistor. TO my experience values between 820k (~one octave) and 100k (~full range) are suitable. But Dieter may shed more light on this. Florian
