135 and 191 and CTM module

135 and 191 and CTM module

2010-03-18 by charles kerr

Hello,

Does anyone know if I can tap the individual VCA outputs on the 135 VC Mixer? I have two and I'd like to try out the 191 Shepherd Generator, but I don't have 8 VCAs (yet!)

Any info would be much appreciated!

Also, I made a 64 channel Trigger-To-MIDI module using the Doepfer CTM board, a great resource Dieter, thanks!

Cheers,
Charlie

Very nice, lots of possibilities :)

The A-135 has no individual outputs available because the CEM3381 VCAs used
in the A-135 have current outputs and the outputs are connected together.
One would have to modify the A-135 by adding four operational amplifiers (a
separate operational amplifier for each CEM3381 current output).

5 volts

2010-03-22 by Richard Scott

I asked this a few days ago but I'll try again in a different form:

Is there any way I can run a 200 ma module which need 5 volts from a
doepfer PSU/busboard?

Richard,

Does the module require 200mA of 5V?

If yes then I would assume you'll need a separate 5V supply feeding the
Doepfer bus.

You may use the A-100AD5 but you have to replace the heat sink by a larger
one because the heat sink of the A-100AD5 has been planned for a max.
current of 100mA. The voltage regulator used on the A-100AD5 (7805, max 1A)
is sufficient provided that the heat sink is large enough. Keep in mind the
the 200mA are taken from +12V, i.e. you must have 200mA surplus of the 12V
output of your power supply.

650 ma and 1200ma

2010-03-26 by Richard Scott

Hi

is the 1200 ma PSU a drop in replacement for the 650 ma in a portable
case or would i have to start drilling holes and shit? (i won't do
that!). the extra power would be useful.

The replacement requires no drilling (the positions of the bolts and the
dimensions of boards are the same for both PSUs).

But I have to point out - even if it's boring (especially after the "safety
at work" seminar on Friday):

As these works affects parts, pc boards and cables that conduct mains
voltage (230/115V) carrying out of these works is allowed only for experts
or authorized personnel who are familiar with all valid safety rules. Laymen
are not allowed to carry out these works ! Danger to Life.
