A-112 editor

A-112 editor

2010-10-13 by martindx100

when will there be a working editor for the a-112? :[
at least a simple way to dump lets say wave tables.

it´s bad customer support of doepfer not to make a new version of the program :(

is there anyone out there who knows a program that will work?

Yes - we are known for our bad support. We have nobody in our company who
could do this job. The man who programmed the old dump program has left our
company many years ago. If anyone could offer the service to program such an
editor please let me know.

Yes, it was Message #18963 by a user Danny Ornelas:

"Howdy A-100 List!

Sorry for the _slow_ communications, I've been busy with life stuff!
I've gotten loading / unloading working under OS X, but there are a few
kinks that absolutely need to be worked out before I have something I
can share.

I'm going to set a padded and realistic date of July 15th 2009 as the
useable release date, at which I'll make an announcement on the list.

I promise it'll be a wonderful contribution to the Doepfer continuum,
just hang tight!

Thanks,

I did not mean it in a harsh way. :)

But maybe it's something that needs higher priority,
so that all functions of the A-112 will work.

"My own opinion" is that if you can sell it as a
up to date wavetable/sampler module, more people would buy it.

But if it needs a 15-25 years old "vintage" computer
to get it to work, less people will buy it.

Not many people got a 286, 386, 486 or pentium with
dos or win95(dos 7.0) laying around in their studio any more :)

I just tried and could let it run on my Windows XP SP3 machine in Win95
compatibility mode (it threw some errors since I don't have a midi

Hi Dieter

Ive searched everywhere and can not find the sysex or cc commands to control the a112.

can you publish these details?

I dont think anyone will be able to write a program without a midi implementation chart.

Thank You.

A-112 firmware and can tell you the details.

Hi!

Are there any news about a new editor?

I have tried to contact Christian Assall myself but the answer was that this information only existed as short notes, all in German and only for internal use purposes and not for customers.

Why not put together this information in English and publish it in this forum, or even better, in the manual. Even the slightest chance for a third party editor being developed must be worth taking. As a pro-developer myself, I'd like to give it a shot.

A-143-9 mod for linear FM?

2011-03-19 by Denis Gökdag

Hi,

I've recently received my second A-143-9 quadrature LFO. I'll be using the two for creating FM spectra a lot as this module has such a beautifully clean sinewave and the combination with the A-132-2 is ideal for FM index modulation.

In this context it would be interesting to know wether anybody has modded his A-143-9 to have linear FM inputs? Ideally, I'd like to add a 3-way switch that selects between the current exponential modulation, DC-coupled linear and AC-coupled linear FM modes for the CV 2 input....

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Re: A-143-9 mod for linear FM?

2011-03-20 by Tim

I think this could be done easily enough, by feeding a linear FM CV through a resistor into the correct point in the expo converter, in a similar way to that shown for the same effect on the A-110 schematic. (A precautionary protection diode would also be needed to protect the possibility of damaging the transistors of the expo converter.)

There is a small downside, in that all the CV voltages applied would have to be sufficiently 'balanced' to ensure that the oscillator doesn't actually stop oscillating, but I suspect this would be so noticeable in practice it wouldn't be a major problem avoiding such combinations.

I'm too busy with other stuff to try this out myself, but if anyone needs some guidance on what to do/where to add the few bits and/or experiment, I can probably help out.

Denis,

from the theory it should be possible to replace the fixed reference voltage
(R8 connected to -12V) of the exponential converter by a variable voltage to
obtain linear FM. The voltage has to be negative. Consequently a little bit
of additional electronics is necessary (manual control + CV input with
attenuator combined with an inverting amplifier as shown on the A-100 DIY
page). You may even modify an A-183-2 by using the internal inverted output
(pin 1 of the TL082) as new reference voltage (instead of -12V) for the
A-143-9 exponential converter.

Best wishes
