Hi Dave

I agree on the 149
109 signal processor, unspectacular but always in use
147 VCLFO - preferably a pair
126 Frequency Shifter
and the 175 inverter finds its way into most patches.

Cheers, nick

Here's a handy summary for new readers:

a-149-1/2 - my absolute favorite !
a-106-6
a-198
a-101-2
a-197
best,
dave

1.) A100PSU2
2.) A100BUS
3.) A100P6
all the other stuff is primus inter pares ;)

Favorites (in no particular order)...
A-147 VC-LFO
A-132-3 DVCA
A-183-2 Offset Attenuator
A-156 Dual Quantizer
A-118 Noise + Random Volt (I love the wobbly random voltage socket on this and use it all the time - A cheap Woggle CV!)

and while we're at it, my least favorites...
A-119 Ext. Input/Env. Follower - Great functionality, but for me the audio-in quality doesn't really shine
A-196 PLL - Yet to find a practical use for this.

Doepfer 'wants' for the coming year....
A-149-1/2
A-154 x 2 and another A-155 (great value for money)
A-160/161
A-151
Quad VC-LFO when it happens

interesting thread. i dont have the numbers memorized so most of these
lists mean nothing to me :P

but i am digging:

low pass gate
precision adder (seems to be totally slept on)
dual vc switch
sequential switch
quantizer

honorable mention goes to the crazy 152 addressable 8 way switch/ t&H/
trigger out thing. I've just obtained one and starting to figure out what
to do with it and how to control it properly...

5 is tough! Here are 8:

1. A106-1 - Gnarly crazy module, if you click with it, you might just be too sane.

2. A189-1 - Almost equally crazy when used for CV. Great for audio also.

3. A101-2 - Greatly overlooked warm, fun VCA. Also a great LPG/LPF.

4. A172 - I don't know how I lived without it for so long. Great for audio to make very gentle ring mod type sounds, or with CV/logic in a variety of ways.

5. A124 - Just a very musical, useable filter capable of some bad attitude. Really good bandpass. The best value in a Euro filter!

6. A151 - A pretty much perfect and very handy 4hp module.

8. A138m - Feedback pathches really come to life with this guy.

7. A137-1 - Fun wavefolder that people can afford - and EVERYONE should have a wavefolder!

Really I can't even order them correctly because I love all of them!

In no order:

A-145 - Why did I sell my second one?!? Often my patches are built around this humble module.
A-125 - Put anything into this and it gets transported back in time to the 60's/70's - http://soundcloud.com/user8805415/a-diamond-sky
A-101-2 - VERY good. Great as my main output VCA that can be switched to filter or stick it somewere in the middle of the patch. Very Punchy sounding.
A-156 - My 4/8 note sequences are now in tune! still learning this one.
A-160/161 - Does so much in 8hp

Jonathan

I will give a shout out to the love it/loath it A-136 Waveshaper. Unlike a filter, I never quite know what i'm going to get out of the waveshaper.
