Highpass modification for A-127 version 3

Highpass modification for A-127 version 3

2011-03-27 by Florian Anwander

Hi,

If you own an A-127, then you that it can be changed from band pass to
low pass with internal jumpers.

Now: If you have an A-127 Version 3 (the version is written on the
pcbs), then it is also possible to get a high pass signal too. You
simply have to feed pin 14 of IC1 to the center pin of the selection
jumper; you can pick this signal at the right side of R15, which is the
resistor direct aside the unused trimmer P8. One cable nothing else!

Btw: the A127 is a hidden gem as it provides in fact three SEM filters!

The problem is, that you would need a real three position rotary switch.
Which eats space on the frontpanel and is expensive.

But already three jumpers would be great.

Hmmm, I guess you could maybe wire up an A-138-e quad three-way crossfader module to get SEM-style crossfading between filter modes for all three A-127 filters. The fourth crossfader could probably be modified to sum all three filters with a level control (or be left as-is to do a three-way crossfade between the three filters).

This would probably make most sense if you also add separate inputs for the filters.

Ahh, a new project for when I actually have some spare time ;-)

Best,
Denis

Cool, thanks for the tip. It already was one of my favorite filter modules.
I made an expansion module for the low-pass/bandpass modification
info here :

I guess i have to expand my expansion module now...

btw... feel free to check out the rest of my blog too ;-)
