Glide only on overlapping notes

Glide only on overlapping notes

2011-08-24 by Zoe Blade

Hi!

So I've got an A-190-3 MIDI to CV converter, which is really great... velocity and mod wheel sensitive too, fantastic... the only thing I can't seem to do with it is have the glide only apply to overlapping notes. If I set it to mininum, there's no glide, as I'd expect, and on any other setting there is glide... but it's glide on *all* the notes, not just the overlapping ones.

Is there any way to get glide only on overlapping notes? And if this particular module can't do it, is there anything else I can use which can?

Thanks,
Zoe.

The glide function of the A-190-3 is nothing but an integrated A-170 (upper
section). One would need a slew limiter that is controlled by the
legato/non-legato information (e.g. a voltage controlled switch that
bypasses the slew limiter in case of non-legato notes). The A-190-3 (or
A-190-2) does not have this feature. It's not possible to add this feature
simply by a firmware update of the A-190-3 as additional hardware (voltage
controlled switch) is required.

Best wishes

Thanks!

Are there any plans to build such a thing?

All the best,
Zoe.

So far there are no plans for such a module. I will see if there is a chance
to add the required circuitry to A-190-2/3 and to offer revised versions of
these modules.

Best wishes

Wow, thank you! If you do ever make such a revision, I'll certainly buy another A-190-3. :D

Thanks,
Zoe.
