Hi, I am planning on building this system - Can anyone offer any advice/suggestions to whether this is a practical choice of modules - I was perhaps thinking I would not need the 3 VCO's with the Sub Harmonic Generator and perhaps I should include another VCA.....any help much appreciated.

looks fun! yes.. lots of osc modules.. maby skip one a-110 and get a springreverb or any other effect like module? what are you planning on sequence with? 2012/11/13 isoldeandisobelle <isoldeisobelle@gmail.com> > ** > > > Hi, > > I am planning on building this system - > > > > Can anyone offer any advice/suggestions to whether this is a practical > choice of modules - I was perhaps thinking I would not need the 3 VCO's > with the Sub Harmonic Generator and perhaps I should include another > VCA.....any help much appreciated. > > > -- Mvh Peter H.K Sedin [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Thank you very much. It is mainly drone based music that I make, so slow and gradual modulation is what I am after, although I am really hoping Santa brings me a Dark Time. --- In Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com, Peter Sedin <peterhksedin@...> wrote:

Thank you, that is good advice - looks like I will have to lose at least one of the A-180's. --- In Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com, achtung_999 <heinrich.himmelwasser@...> wrote:

One advice: Take out the A116 waveform processor. That one is not so impressive. For drone music you are better served with using the A137-1 wave multiplier. /Just my 2 cents I have owned an A116 and still own a A137-1 (with great pleasure!). Hi, If I may add. The A-107 is nice however won't give you too much versatility sound wise. Instead I'd go for a combo of A-124 and A-108 or A-106-6 (if you insist on Oberheim xpander type filter). That way you can keep the mult regarding space too :-) Best wishes Jakob Am 13.11.2012 22:44 schrieb "isoldeandisobelle" <isoldeisobelle@gmail.com>: > ** > > > Thank you, that is good advice - looks like I will have to lose at least > one of the A-180's. > > --- In Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com, achtung_999 <heinrich.himmelwasser@...> > wrote: > > > > One advice: Take out the A116 waveform processor. yes, the A137 is a fantastic wavefolder, totally recommended! Bakis ________________________________

I own both A-116 and A-137-1, and I deeply agree with Ernst: A-137-1 is really an impressive waveshaper, especially before an H.P. filtering ation. This doesn't mean that A-116 isn't useful: I still get great pleasure with it, but if you have to choose between 2 waveshapers ... probably A-137-1 is the right choice! Marco

that's why i also have a A116 in my modular system. :-) but, if i had to only have one, i would go for the A137, for sure of course. Bakis ________________________________

Thank you for the replies. I already have the A-107, which I bought for the morphing ability (wish the transition was a bit longer, but 10 seconds is fine.) I do plan to construct another smaller case to house filters in the future. --- In Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com, Bakis Sirros <synth_freak_2000@...> wrote:

Hi, The reason I chose two A-145's was that I had one already and I prefer the slower cyclic speed of this module. Considering every-bodies useful replies, it seems I need to maybe reconsider my choices. Thank you. --- In Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com, Antonio Tuzzi <antoniotuzzi@...> wrote:

Hello basically a very nice concept. Is there a reason why you choose two A-145 instead of one A-143-3 with four LFOs? Drop at least one multiples and replace it with an inverter A-175 (now you get the falling ramp from the A-143-3) Replace the A-131 with an A-132-3 (two VCOs instead of one). A116 -> A137-2 as mentioned already Drop one 110 If you free space using a different filter module, then get a second mixer. Florian Am 13.11.2012 20:18, schrieb isoldeandisobelle:
