hi Bakis. the module looks good , but i see the need for a few
adjustments. the 4 led's to tell which direction it is moving in, is
very confusing, especially in a live context with dim lights.

my suggestion is to have 8 horizontal led's which indicate the
direction the sequencer will follow. here are the possibilites

chasing one another to the right for forward movement
chasing one another to the left for reverse movement
chasing one another to the right then back to the left for pendulum
mode 1 and flashing the last leds twice for pendulum mode 2
random is just what it means a random diplay of its position.

the plus side to this is its cheap and would provide a cool light
show as well. hint blue led's. also you could have the VC Clock cycle
the led's in time like the A145, 146 and 147 lfo's.

the voltage controlled clock should have a variable pulse width with
an input and manual pot.

you could also add a reference envelope output for every stage like
the A142 which is basically a linear decay envelope to to do short
percussive sounds , this would save your envelopes for more creative
modulations.

here is the Feature i crave the most!!

Two 10 pin connectors on on the back so you can have a VC analog
selection for 2 sequencers to have 16 steps. you could have a switch
to tie both the sequencers together or have them work separately from
the vc clock.

in the files section under proposed A154, i have done a shityy
photoshop version with the suggested features.

Nice Idea but costy, since you have to setup the complete clock and address
generation a second time only for the LEDs.

The whole stuff might be stackable...

hi Florian,

i hear you on that call, but all you are adding is 4 extra led's plus
the complete clock and address generation. I am sure Doepfer could
this make possible with some craftiness. look at the photoshop A154
file in the files section. it's pretty ugly work, but you get the
jist of it. the led's should be spaced a little further apart. if the
cost to implement the led's is another 10 Euros , i say "GO FOR IT"
it will be a whole better thatn the 4 led's sitting idle.

let me know what you think, thanks.

Cheers,
RM

Is it possible that doepfer was already
thinking about this module before the
discussion came up? I think the module
is a great idea and would love to own one.
I hope doepfer goes ahead and produces this
module.

The only feature I could think to add to
the A-155/4 modules would be a way to link
two A-155s to get 16 steps. I know, I know,
the MAQ has 16 steps, but, it doesn't have the
CV control of the features we're discussing.

Its possible, since the concept of the A155 already contains a digital bus,
that he thought about this for a longer time.

Thats why I would like to have a modulare sequencer system.
