I was wondering has anyone here created their own PLL using existing Doepfer Modules rather than getting hold of the A-196? Would it need the Analogue Comparator or can another module do the work? I want to see what can be done with it before committing to buying one. Thanks, Neil

I came close with a pitch tracking schematic once using two min/max modules I believe.
I have to search if I wrote down this patch somewhere, possibly not :-(
But it is probably cheaper getting an A196 if you don't already own the necessary modules.
I hope you are not interested in this for 100% accuracy. The A196 is a great module but it has quite some quirky behaviour. I love it especially for that!

Yeah it looks as though the A-196 exists for a good reason! I’m certainly not worried about accuracy! Neil
