Heterodyning Experiment

2014-12-16 by David Kellett

Hi,

After my questions about the safety of feeding two oscillators or more into a passive mult here is an example https://soundcloud.com/david-kellett-2/heterodyning-rubicons

The first two Rubicons have their double sine output going into the mult. They are tuned up into the supra audio range - what you hear is the difference tone. I'm only touching the fine tune knob. Later I put the other Rubicon in sine into the mult - but in LFO mode - you get a tremolo effect. I tried the Sawtooth but you get a nasty click from it in this configuration.

Could standard Doepfer oscillators do it?

I'm not sure that you can get the pitch high enough. But the principle is the same. And Dieter said that the Doepfer modules are protected from damage in this kind of patch.

You liked the sound then Neil?
