a-183-3

2015-01-22 by lahebr2000@yahoo.se

Hi!

My A-183-3 (Amplifier) started smoking the other day. I think that I overloaded it with a strong audio signal? Can't really see any other reason since at the time it started smoking I was was feeding it a signal to it - to boost the audio signal for the a-129 vocoder.

Not so good modules can short and start smoking - fire hazard...

But anyways... I assume it is the little IC circuit the got burnt... What kind of IC circuit is it and is it replaceable (looks like one simply can can put in a new one...?). Any advice would be appreciated.

Best, Lars

Wille, I used it originally to compensate for my old Moog's less than 1 v/octave - so I could get it to play in tune with my eurorack.

Kind of miss the module. A good tool for many things.

The circuit is a dual OpAmp (MC1458) and can be repalced. But even another pin-compatible circuit (e.g. TL082) should work.
