I know they're old and kind of limited but the simplicity and sheer number of knobs appeals to me.

BTW I see the 8 CV inputs are factory configured. Anybody know how easy it is to make them all just CV inputs, no foot controllers etc?

I have a Drehbank. Judging by the user manual, the only difference is that the foot controller inputs provide +5V on the Ring of the TRS socket. The modification probably just severs this connection. It would also be possible to build a custom cable that would have no connection on for the Ring on the 1/4" TRS end, and a regular TS plug on the other end. This would provide ground and a 0 to +5V return signal from your modular. Check with Dieter to make sure there isn't some impedance matching that needs to be accounted for.

Thanks for the info. Yeh let me know if you would sell yours. There are a few CV-MIDI converters around but the extra integration and knobs of the Doepfer definitely solves a few problems. I'm guessing we might see something similar again released in the coming years ... but I want it now goddamn it!
