Wire length between A-176 potentiometers and PCB

Hello,
I'd really like to change the ergonomics of the A-176 so that it would better suit my needs.
I'm thinking of moving the potentiometers away from the faceplate and PCB and attaching them to another, separated faceplate.
Could someone suggest a maximum wire length between the A-176 pots and the PCB ?
