A160-2 reset behaviour

A160-2 reset behaviour

2015-11-26 by JV .

Hallo there,

My first post is a rather new modular user is about the A160-2.
Just started to make a nice case filled with Doepfer modules.
Still assembling....

Why is the 160-2 producing a high pulse on reset at all the outputs?

I cant get a good reset with sequencers i.e. system gets out of sync.

What is wrong or what am I doing wrong?

Cheers

I suppose that this was programmed intentionally by Christian. Please contact him directly (Christian Assall, software@doepfer.de).
He programmed the A-160-2 firmware. I think it has to do with the discussion we had during the A-154 development, i.e. if a reset
signal should immediately generate the reset state or if the next incoming clock signal after the reset should trigger the reset
state. As there are still 2 unused jumpers left maybe Christian can modify the firmware so that the user can select the reset
behaviour.

Best wishes

Hello Dieter,

Thanks for your fast reply.
I (think) I understand, I also bought the A155/154 set twice and that works very well with resets when testing.
I will contact Christian about this "problem".
Hopefully there will be an fix.

Thanks again,

Christian told me that the module works as described on the info page. A reset sets all outputs to zero (in non-inverted mode) but
the next clock signal turns all outputs to high (in non-inverted mode). Please refer to the diagram on the A-160-2 info page. If you
want that all outputs turn to low with the next clock signal you have to choose the inverted mode (lower diagram on the A-160-2 info
page). Pay attention that you can also select the clock polarity, reset behaviour (level or edge) and reset polarity.

Best wishes
