Defect A-199 Spring Reverb ?

Hi Everyone.

This is my first post here.

I'm having trouble with my A-199. It used to work fine and now it acts like it's permanently gated.

The sound will not pass through it unless it reaches a certain threshold. Then when it does, it dies away very quickly.
Just as if i had set up a gate before and after it.

Maybe a faulty TL084 ? I don't have any lying around at the moment so I can't try that.

Any suggestion welcome.

From the distance it's difficult to make a diagnosis. It might be the TL084 or the LM386 or even the reverb tank.

Thanks for your answer.

I will try swapping the Opamps first.

Worst case scenario i will have to send it in for repair.
