A155 wrong wired from factory

Hello Dieter,

Last year I bought an A155. 
It worked very well. 
A few days ago I also ordered an A154. 
After making the connections fun was over sadly. 
I did some investigation (I already have two sets of 155/154 which work fine) and comparison I discovered that the wiring on the A155 is wrong. 
Flatcables red stripes are all opposite!
This looks like a misstake made with production. 
I notified Thomann for returning the unit. 
Hope this will be solved under guarantee. 
Or do I have to send it to Doepfer?

Hello Jacco

I assume that this will be a warranty "repair". In fact they only have 
to rewire it correctly and send the module back to you.

Dieter will assumingly clear this after his vacation.

Thans you for your reply.
I think it's broken.
All leds flashed. 
It worked until the a154 came in. 
I connected everything with red lines like the a155 was connected, this resulted in damage.

The pictures come through fine.

Does it still flash when you put it back to the original state?

Can you post pictures with the 155 and 154 connected?

Basically the colour does is not the important part. You should obey the 
orientation of the flat-cables.

I will post later a picture of the wiring in my 154/155 combination.

Hello Florian,

After this small disaster I checked my other two a155/154 sets so that's where I discovered the wrong wiring. 
After that I ignored the red lines and tried again but the a155 only made a few steps before it frooze. 
So I am sure something has been blown up. 

I ordered a new a155 at Thomann that should arrive this monday. 
Sounds must go on and I don't have the patience waiting for weeks.

AW: [Doepfer_a100] A155 wrong wired from factory

That's an obviously wrong wired module ! The red stripe of the ribbon cable connecting the trigger and potentiometer boards to the control board should be the other way round. It has no effect until the A-155 module is running alone (without A-154). But if A-155 and A-154 are connected as prescribed (red wire = red wire) the connection is wrong and the module(s) may be damaged. I'm very sorry about this issue and will instruct our manufacturer to pay attention to the correct position of the red stripe. Please return the module for a new one (or refund) to Thomann. To be on the safe side please return also the A-154. Maybe it has been damaged also.

For all members: please check if the cable orientation is correct (i.e. not as in the pictures below). We will offer a free replacement for all modules wired in the wrong way.
Note: it causes a problem only if the A-155 is connected to an A-154. As long as the A-155 runs alone no problems will occur.

I already sent the A155 back to Thomann with a small note attached. 
No conformation received yet. 

The A154 seems fine, I hope. 
It didn't flash (and popped) like the A155. 
I have to check it. 

I'm glad things will be solved.

Update

Today I received another new A155 (ordered separately, not the one under guarantee) and coupled it with the A154 which made me happy to see all worked fine. 

The "bad" A155 has arrived at Thomann service center.
