Hi there, I know there are dedicated modules to create but I wonder what is the easiest way to make a shuffled clock with Doepfer modules? Cheers Jacco Ville Sent from my IPhone.

I haven't yet tried this myself (still a newbie), but from what I've read I expect to be able to do it like this: Connect a pulse to A160 clock divider. Connect outputs 1 and 6 from A161 clock sequencer to a multiples. Connect multiples to the ADSR that will now get a shuffled pulse. If I am right. - Ville Oikarinen

Thank you , I've read that also. But it would be nice to have a shuffle that can be regulated. I have a Roland SBX1 clocking device with shuffle. Does the A190-8 midi to clock module plays shuffled midi input? Suggestions are welcome. Jacco Sent from my IPhone.

Hello if the shuffled clock shall be created by the System 100 itself: Any LFO with saw -> A-167 comparator (this produces variable pulswidth) -> A-165 Triggermodifier -> the +/-Out provides a shuffeled clock. Instead of LFO/Comparator you may use a VCO with pulswidth control. If an external Clock should be used: Ext-Clock -> A-151: 5V to O/I, I/O3 to Reset; I/O1 -> A-186-1 Trigger combiner in1 ; I/O2 -> A-162 Trigger-Delay -> A-186-1 Trigger combiner in2; A-186-1 Output = Shuffled clock. the Triggerdelay defines the shuffle amount. In both cases the original Clockrate is double the shuffeled clockrate. If you want the same clockrate then you have to double the clock frequency of the incoming clock using a A-196 PLL and a A160 Divider. Hi Florian, "If an external Clock should be used: Ext-Clock -> A-151: 5V to O/I, I/O3 to Reset; I/O1 -> A-186-1 Trigger combiner in1 ; I/O2 -> A-162 Trigger-Delay -> A-186-1 Trigger combiner in2; A-186-1 Output = Shuffled clock. the Triggerdelay defines the shuffle amount." This worked very well although with higher tempo things get a bit nasty to dial in the A162 but thank you anyway. I also tried the SBX1, programmed the aux output to trigger and clocked an A157. The SBX1 has a dedicated shuffle button with control of plus and minus 50% and this also worked. Now I only need to test the A190-8 for shuffle over midi to trigger. Hi Hi Tested the A190-8 but no shuffle is supported, my A190-2 does this very well. Also found the A190-8 has a rather high latency ( midiclock in > trigger outs)where the A190-2 is rock solid. Not a good thing and therefore rather useless. Hope there will be a software update because the A190-2 has only a gate output, no reset etc. Greetings Jacco Ville

I'm sorry about the troubles with the A-190-8. I wonder why the A-190-8 has more latency than the A-190-2 because from the theory the A-190-8 should be faster as it just has to handle midi clock/start/stop and should not generate any noticeable delay. I ask you to contact Christian Assall directly (software@doepfer.de). He programmed the firmware of both modules. Best wishes Dieter Doepfer > Hi Hi > > Tested the A190-8 but no shuffle is supported, my A190-2 does this very well.
