Doepfer MIDI Interfaces & iConnectivity iConnectMIDI4+ L

2017-05-06 by Diego Ragnini

Hello everybody,

Recently I started to think of the need to use MIDI devices within the modular realm, without having necessarily to mediate through a PC/Mac. I just googled for a MIDI unit which enable to do this and found this article, which permits to route and filter MIDI data according to specific needs:

This should be a newer version:

Does anybody know whether Doepfer MIDI Interfaces, the likes of A-190-4 and A-190-3, could communicate “directly” with this kind of interface or not ?

Or maybe someone knows other solutions?

Best regards,

Diego

Hi,

I got hold of an IConnectivity MIDIConnect 4+ last week and, whilst I don’t have a Doepfer MIDI/CV interface, I’ve had no issues getting hooked up to my modular via my Moog Mother-32, so I wouldn’t expect problems with any other units.

Best wishes.

Diego

Hello Diego,

Have one sitting around here for some time. I think its a great midi
interface for interfacing between iphone/pad/mac/pc and Any * midi
equipped synthesizers/modular. Just connect the midi in/out ports to
your gear and go. You can even download an mobile app to control all
interface settings.

Hello,

I have read Tim and Simon replies and thanks a lot for the feedbacks.

So I could simply have to ignore the USB ports on the Doepfer interfaces, just connect the MIDI ones to the unit… cool

Have a nice weekend,

Diego
